Does anyone know the radio removal procedure for a 97 Integra? I replaced the battery but I don't have the unlock code or any of the owner manuals. The dealer told me I need to give them the serial number of the radio but I haven't been able to find the removal instructions.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Have you tried looking in the places listed here http://all-acura.com/ftopic38.html. You might not have to take out your radio.
I'll be back tomorrow with those instructions... but hopefully you won't need em _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. - Mario Andretti |

I checked every place that was suggested but I couldn't find anything. It looks like I will have to remove the radio to get the serial #.
Have you been able to find the removal instructions for me? I found instructions for the '94 to '96 Integra but they didn't match-up with the '97. |

The 96 instructions should work it has the similar if not same specs.
Remove the access cap under the hand brake, and remove the 2 screws under it. And the 2 screws at the back of the rear console. Lift the parking brake and take off the rear console. Remove the ashtray and disconnnect the lighter from the front console panel by removing the two screws behind the ashtray and cig lighter. Remove the trim ring around the shifter then the console panel. Then remove all the screws holding the front console in and remove the console.
Loosen the bolts under the radio, then remove the radio by pulling out. Disconnect the connector and antenna lead. _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. - Mario Andretti |

I got as far as the last step of loosening/removing the bolts. I found a single nut that secures a heavy frame that I thought went up to the radio. The nut is located behind and below the ashtray frame. I removed it but the radio wouldn't budge. Can you describe in more detail where these bolts are located?
Sorry to be a pain. Thanks for your help. |
