Post subject: No VTEC
Sorry but it wouldn't let me post in the "Repair" Forum.
As for my delimma. When i hit 6000 rpm or so it feels as though its choking and won't go anymore. Is this due to a VTEC problem? Also, when i'm driving my car and put it into neutral, it idles at 2000 rpm and only comes down when i make a complete stop. This problem just started occuring about 2 weeks ago. Its a 98 GSr.
Any help would be greatly apperciated. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't worry about the idle thing, last i checked if you are in neutral above a certain speed your car will idle a little higher than normal. Mine does the same thing. As for your VTEC, are you getting any engine codes? Do you hear the solenoid valve click when VTEC is engaged? Oh, don't forget to check your oil!

I checked the oil, its a little dirty but pretty much to the top. I also tried to disconnect the negative from the battery to see if the ECU would reset, but to no avail. I can't hear the vtec solenoid either, like i said earlier, when the car hits around 5000 to 6000 rpm the vehicle feels like its choking and won't accelerate pass that. There is also no Engine light coming on.
I previously installed a indiglo gauge previous this incident, 2 days before, Could it be that i might of forgot to connect something. I would just like your thoughts before i take it all apart again.

All i can say is check your wiring... I suck when it comes to that kinda stuff, and I mess up all kinds of obscure stuff when i start wiring new shit in. If you put it back how it was before and your VTEC comes back well then u'll know where u went wrong.
The way I see it if it is wired up correctly and your VTEC isn't working your ECU would tell u why. But if it's not "in the loop" well the ECU can't give u much info.
