My car just died on the highway and I'm pretty much sure that the timing belt broke. I heard that some acuras (mine is integra rs 1.6 1989) have some kind of protection in case the timing belt brokes. Is that true. Do any of you know if my is equiped with it??

thanks

I haven't heard of any kinda protection against that. Honda/Acura engines are valve intrinsic, so when your break a timing belt you are in for a world of hurting... bent valves at the very least.

My mechanic removed the head and concluded that nothing is damaged. The valves a good and the pistons are fine as well.

Timing belt was broken in 3 parts.

Apperently I was lucky
