The 2005 Acura RL features a rather bland exterior, but with all-wheel drive and 300 horsepower this RL is no slouch. It features some very nice improvements over the current model, and should be available to consumers soon.

What you see is what you should expect come fall 2004 when these cars hit the showroom. However, Acura has labeled the RL as not-yet-finished prototype. Acura has not departed from its tradition of subtle understated styling. On the other hand, this new RL boast horsepower figures that anyone would be jealous of at 300 hp. The 3.5 liter V6 coupled with an all-wheel drive system, exude Acura's 'sleeper' style.

A sequential shift five-speed transmission plants the V6's 300 horses to the ground. The new all-wheel drive system distributes power between the front and rear wheels, as well as moderate power between the left an right rear wheels for improved handling. Steering wheel-mounted shift paddles also enhances the RL's sports car allure. Although, noticeably larger than any sports car it is only marginally larger than its predecessor.

The 2005 RL will also feature some lovely gadgets, for the electronically inclined consumer. Most notable is the new satellite linked navigation system which can display up-to-date traffic collision reports and much more. The same system can also deliver detailed vehicle information that can be used for malfunction troubleshooting. And of course a hands free phone system comes standard thanks to an integrated Bluetooth wireless technology system.
