Integra Performance
Learn to tune to achieve maximum Acura Integra performance. When it comes to Integra Performance we all have to start somewhere.
Where do you stand: just starting out, experienced tuner, or are
you a professional.
Ok, lets start at the beginning. Cold air intake is generally
the first Integra performance part to consider. I suggest you get an Injen air intake system for a
couple of reasons. It is cheaper than AEM generally, I've had it on for months,
it is a good intake. My GS-R has more more wheelspin going into second, which
means more horsepower and low end torque.
By far the best intake I have used;
with the cold air extension, this intake is a beauty and dyno PROVEN to be more
balanced in power gains than the AEM cold air intake! But it is not all about Integra performance
The chrome with the red Injen logo is definitely a plus complemented with the noticeable power
gain and the nice roar (esp. when vtec engages).

Now that your engine is breathing better, it is time for you to
relieve all that back pressure. Lets work our way back starting with
headers. I recommend you get DC Sport Stainless Steel headers. They are great looking
pipes, they turn a nice golden color after a few runs, and eventually they'll turn to a
nice blue-chrome look. Everyone ooo's and ahhh's when you pop the hood. It looks
10x's better than the ceramic headers.
Integra Performance and great looks built
into one system-that's what you get from the DC Sports Cat-Back Exhaust.
The DC Sports exhaust system includes everything from the catalytic converter
back including a factory style resonator and their own performance muffler
finished off with a 4 inch laser engraved tip. The DC Sports Cat-Back
Exhaust system is the perfect Acura Integra performance part. I highly recommend
this part, or any other DC Sports product. Then of again
DC Sports
products can be a little pricey. If you are a spend thrift and would rather shop around for less expensive parts you can find
Acura parts from JC Whitney
.
Once you have gone through the typical
Integra performance upgrades I recommend that you get the matrix
adjustable cam gear. It is important that you have control over your
timing (esp. if you have nitrous), but you didn't need me to tell you
that. I bet you already have your next mod planned out.

So, you're a professional. Then there is no need for me to make any
Integra performance suggestions to you, because you probably already know what you
need. But, may I suggest that you take a
look at this Honda/Acura engine performance book review. It covers engine tuning techniques
that I can barely scratch the surface of here.
