Yo aclonghorn if you haven't already done so, you will probably want to read this article http://www.all-acura.com/article2.html. It gives a nice basic overview of do's and don'ts.

The obvious place to start with any 4 banger is with intake and exhaust. Instead of going with a K&N i would go with a full CAI (Cold air intake). AEM produces the best hp gains... i have seen jumps of 8-10 hp w/ an AEM CAI alone, although that engine had a few other mods, but it still is the best. As far as exhaust goes a cat back system is always nice. I don't hear alot about cat back systems, but i hear good things APEX i, and Tiens. I know APEX makes systems for your car, but i am not sure about Tien. Tanabes make a good sound, they are even illegal in some states (noise ordanances)

Howdy! I just sold my 1968 Ford Mustang fastback and purchased a 2000 Acura 3.2 TL, and would like to know what performance mods ya'll recommend to start out with. I don't want to throw a whole bunch of stuff on it, but I would like to get an extra 15 or 20 HP. I put Flowmasters on my Stang, and really like a good exhaust sound. i know I can't put FLowmasters on the Acura, but what exhaust product sounds the best, in your opinion. Pardon the term, but I don't really like the "rice burner" sound; I've heard that cat-backs sound really nice. I'm also thinking about putting a K&N air filter on it, but i don't think that will get me many horses. Thanks!
