ive always had B18 swaps in a 92 hatchback (but that got stolen recently ) . I just got a 98 GSR , ive only had it for a month and yesterday the maintenance required light flashes 10 times when starting the car ( this happens when only starting the car) i checked under the hood and most of the fluids look fine except for the oil which looked a lil low. Is that the only reason that light keeps flashing or am i over looking something else. ( last civic didnt have a maintenance required light so this is new to me )
PS... is the maintenance required light kinda like the check engine light?? can i jump the ECU and see what the flashing ten times means for maintenance required light???? if not i hope someone can give me some advise on this.

I also got a 98 GSR. Maintenance light flashes just to remind the car is schedule for service (oil change, air filter, ....) according to maintenance schedule. It keeps on flashing for may be 100-200 driven miles (I don't remember exact), and then the light will be on all the time until you reset it (suppose you change oil at home). The reset switch is under I/P (Instrument Panel), right underneath the steering column. Reset instruction is in your manual book. Keep pressing it while you turn the car key to "ON" position (not start, but only ON"). After approx. 10-15 second, the light will be off.
Maitenance light is totally different than "check engine light".
