anyway the old oring is still in there and they put a new one over it twice or does the old one just come out very easily any other theories are definitely welcome Thanks
oh also pulled my air filter and there was some oil in the tube so i checked my hoses from the valve cover and one was collapsed so i replaced it. where is the pcv valve or is there one ?? Thanks
Yes you have a PCV valve, it is located on the driver side of the valve cover. it's a little plastic valve with a hose attatched to it. Acura recommends that the PCV Valve be checked every 60,000mi (96,000Km).
There are two ways to check a PCV Valve. The first way is to pinch the hose that goes from the valve to the intake manifold. If you have strong hands, you can pinch it between your fingers. Otherwise, use a pair of pliers. Pinch it right where the hose goes into the hose jacket.
If the valve is working properly, you should hear a clicking sound from the valve. If not, check the rubber grommet where the PCV Valve goes into the valve cover. Check it for cracks or damage. If it looks okay, replace the PCV Valve and re-test.
Remove the PCV Valve
A second way is to remove the valve and shake it.
To remove the valve, grab it and lift it straight up out of the valve cover.
Next, squeeze the hose clamp fingers and slide the hose clamp back onto the hose. Then, pull the PCV Valve out of the hose.
Now, shake the PCV Valve. You should be able to hear the valve open and close against spring tension when you shake it. If you don't hear anything, the valve is gummed up. Replace it.
In fact, it doesn't make a lot of sense to "check" the PCV Valve every 60,000mi. Since a genuine Honda/Acura PCV Valve costs less than $10, it's a good idea simply to replace it every 60. _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti
