Model - Acura 3.2 TL
Mileage - 160000 miles (I have put only 7000 miles on this car. Bought it when it was 150K Sad )

When the car is acclerating, from Zero it disengages and the RPM speed on the meter shoots up. If I take my leg off the pedal and acclerate slowly the car slowly enages with a jerk.

Now the check light goes on and a car mechanic told me that this ws the error code:

P0740 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction

Any suggestions on what to do? And if anyone has gone thru this? If so suggestions?

thanks.

Dear Jaggi,

Depending on what year your car is, there is a warranty issue with Acura that concerns the transmission and torque converter. They will replace it if it is 2001 or newer. You should call your dealership and see what they say. I myself have just replaced the transmission on my 2002 TL and after two weeks, it is already acting up! Gotta Love That!

Good Luck! Wink
