I was wondering if anyone has done any research into the "new" SJ classification for most motor oils on the market. I went looking for the "fuel efficient" SF grade only oil listed in the service manual and could only find the the SJ or SJ combined with a different S-grade oil.
What I've found is that the newer SJ rating is for lowered phosphorous restrictions for less calytic converter foulment when the oil sometimes goes into exhaust gases.
I'm wondering if it is ok to accepted the SJ grade oil as the desired SF grade oil?
