I have a power cap for my stereo system in my 91 integra. The cap has a volt reader on it, that tells how many volts are presently at the battery. When I first put it in it would usually show around 13.9-14.1 volts when i was driving at like 70. and when i would be idleing it would go back and forth from about 11.7-12.1.

Now, EVERY NOW AND AGAIN, it will be running barley at 11.7 when im driving at 70, and when Its ideling it will go as low as like 9.7 volts sometimes. I happened to be watching it while i was at a light one night. It was idleing at about 800 rpms (what it always has) and the volt guage was at about 11.5 then dropped to about 6.5 and the lights and fan and other accessories lost substantial power then when i gave it gas it SLOWLY climbed back to about 11.5, but then would drop down again, then be right back up at 13.9.

Every now and again it shows low, and when I come out to start the car it will either hesititae to start, or not start at all. I had the electrical system checked, and the battery is taking a charge and the alternater is new and was working properly. It seems to happen when itws wet outside. I've had the car for about 4 yearsa and have never changed the belts. So im wondering if the beltrs could be slipping in the wet weather and causing the alternanter to not work hard enough.

Let me know if this could be the problem.

Thanks, and sorry for the long post.

I wouldn't say that its your belts, it might just be a poor connection between your battery and connectors.
