i belive my fuel pump is no longer working but want to make sure it is not a relay or fuse. the haynes manual describes if the fuel pump is working or not by turning the key to the on postion and listing for a whirring sound. ive heard it before when i had a different electrical problem and ruled that out. but now i here no whirr. does anyone know where the fuse and or relay for the PGM-FI main relay and or fuse is located so i can rule this out before buying a new fuel pump.. thanks
sorry its for a 91 acura integra gs model...
Your PGM-FI main relay is located under you dash off to the right of your fuse panel. It is right above your hood release lever.
If i'm not mistaken it has a grey cover with a maroon connector plug. If you whant to check to make sure that your fuel pump isn't broken, you can disconnect the wire connector and make sure it's getting 12 volts when the car is first turned on. If it's not getting 12 voltz your fuel pump is still working but isn't getting a signal to turn on. Therefore you have an electrical problem upstream. _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti
i dont quite follow you on how and what to check for the 12 volts, ok i disconnect the plug from the relay and check for the 12 volts on the plug? is there a way to check if the relay is good or not? i see in the haynes manual that the pgm-fi relay has a primary and secondary circut one sending power to the fuel pump and the other to the fuel injection system. thanks
