i left to goto work this afternoon after i got home from classes....i was goin down the street and i shifted into 3rd and something did not feel right..i get up to the stop sign and clutch in and the engine starts idleing erratically between 2500-5k revs...so i get it around the corner park it and get a ride to work from my friend...got out of work, pushed it home, started it up in the driveway and the engine shot upto 4k revs and just idled there....the ecu has thrown no codes and yes my blinker fluid is full....
btw it is a 1987 acura integra ls with brown top ZC
Sounds like either your throttle cable is sticking or you have a faulty Idle control sensor/valve?. Try playing with the throttle cable under the hood while the car is running. Try replacing the Idle speed sensor.
i got it fixed the electronic idle control valve came loose so i just bolt it back on made sure it was tight and the car runs and idles better than it ever has...my guess is that i was loose the whole time and i hit a bump and knocked it off
