Sounds like your valve seals are old and worn which is allowing a lil oil in to be burned. The only cheap fix is maybe switching to a heavier oil, but that might not be very helpful. Have you ever seen those Valvoline Hi-Milage commercials, that might be a good oil to switch too. I hate it when cars get old |

| I think that is what the previous owners did to it. When i bought it from them obviously there was no smoke. But after a oil change and a few miles it poured out. How much do you think it would cost to fix those valve seals. |

That may not be necessary. Did you just get the car recently? What kind of oil are you running now... Like TKO said a heavier oil might be all you need. As for prices on replacing valve seals i really don't know, but i would venture a guess to say it would be more expensive than its worth. _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti |

| I see what you are saying. I have had the car for about 4 months. When I bought the car it had just got the oil change. And then i took it in a just got a regular oil change. They didn't use a high mileage oil. Not long after that it started to smoke. With me using that thicker oil will I loose anything as far as performance or will it speed up wear and tear? I want to keep the car as long as possible. |

| The thicker the oil the harder your engine has to work, so you would lose some performance, but nothing really noticable. Its really is worth it, your engine will break down light oils faster than a new engine which will cause you to create added wear and tear. A car at that age, just go as thick as possible get the most protection. |
