Hey,
Good advice Cedric. Bad tires are responsible for a few near death experiences and a wreck of mine. _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti
You had a wreck?? that is nuts, tell me what happened (unless you are still tramatized)
I was in an accident last year, it cost the other guy over 1600$. I was turning left on a from a single lane road (no left turn lane) and this moron in a van of some kind decided he would try to speed past me on the left. Why he chose the left is beyond comprehension, but he smashed my drivers side door into oblivion, and lost about a years wages. I was furious and didnt want my rates to get messed up, but when I told him I'd be happy to call the cops because my driving was legal, he was ready to talk money.
At my mechanics shop there is a guy named Ed who flipped his car 4 years ago. He was at the track, trying to push his car a little further, and while taking a tight corner he misjudged his line and wound up in the hospital. It make my accident look like a fender bender, but hearing him tell me this story helped lift some the lead out of my shoes.
Well, one day after going to a sanctioned racing event I was on my way to get new tires b/c mine were bald and they had no grip. So, i'm driving down the highway at a conservative 75 mph and this dumb ass decides to take my line while i'm still in it. I swerved to avoid getting into a wreck and asked for a little too much traction from my tires. Before i knew it i was sideways in the middle of traffic by time i was able to react i was already facing oncoming traffic and a nice 18 wheeler that was right on top of me. I threw it reverse, floored it and spun it back around (another 180 to get back facing the right way) and peeled out like my life depended on it (because it did!). In the midst of all that traffic surrounding me i didn't hit a thing! It took me awhile to get back on the road after that! If you have seen 2fast 2furious, Paul Walker's stunt driver did the samething (On the exact same road I-95) except that was planned and he had pros all around him, I didn't.
There was another incedent, but i'll tell you about that another time. _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti
wow, that must have been scary. I bet you had to change your huggies after that. It sounds like you made the best out of a near death situation, that must have taken all your skills to get out of that mess. Sometimes I really dont think ppl realize how slow they are going when they dart in front of you at the last second. Just because they floored it doesnt mean they are fast enough to safely get in front of you, it drives me crazy sometimes. What was the other incident?
About my accident, when my door get smashed in. I had just bought the Rsx about a month or two earlier, and if I was driving my old car (92 celica) I probably would have been seriously hurt if not worse. It doesnt matter how much it costed now, but the fact that I made it out of it alright it most important in retrospect.
It seems like mr AcuraImport is the only person who checks in here as often as me, do you have skype, msn or icq?
Yea, i am going to start off with the performance side first of course(headers, exhausts, intake)
I see a lot of guys that has a show car and try to race when they don't have anything under the hood. I want to be able to pull up next to a pimped out ride and blow there doors off lol
Tater, sounds like you got your priorities straight Go before Show!
Oh cedric, to make a long story short, basically it involved a curb, fire hydrate, and a wet road. Note: Driving while mad is not the best of ideas. The road was wet and i was mad and accidently gave it little much power going around a corner and did a nice 540 over a curb and slid sideways into a fire hydrante. Luckily, there was no one around I only injured my pride and my car If i wasn't so pissed off i could have easily saved it but, when your emotions get the best of you it is almost impossible to drive at your full potential. Oh yeah, and this happened on the tires I got after my first incedent, and yes i did need new tires.

damn, sorry to hear about the hydrant running into you heh .. You must have been flying around that corner to have done a 540!! Im glad everyone was okay though. Have you seen the thread on the E-Turbo's? 'electric turbo' I know AcuraImport can tell me whats up with this part.
