I totaled my 1994 Legend GS a few weeks ago, and since I still have the remote I was wondering if I could sell it to someone else now that I no longer have a use for it. I checked eBay and noticed that there were a number of them being sold... but each of the auctions warned buyers to check with local Acura dealers to see if the remote would work for their vehicle.
I called one of the local Acura dealers and was told that I COULD NOT reprogram the remote for a 1994 Legend to be used with ANY other car because it is hard coded with to work with my exact car only. The fact that dozens of the same remote are being sold on eBay makes me think otherwise.
Can anybody here tell me from experience whether the keyless entry system remote from a 1994 Legend GS can be reprogrammed to work with someone else's Legend (or other Acura)?
