I had my 2000 TL auto trans rebuilt recently. It soon began vibrating when shifting from 3rd to 4th; then 2nd to 3rd. But it was very intermittent. It got progressively worse. The Aamco and Acura dealer thought it may be the egar valve but it remained after it was replaced. Aamco did another total rebuild this time using oem honda clutches and they had the factory torque converter rebuilt instead of using and aftermarket one.
Guess what - no change.
HEEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPP. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Could it be a timing issue or a differential (does this car even have one)?

You're right you do need a pyschic! Problems don't get much more complicated than a automatic transmition problems. If i think of anything you will be the first to know!

My 2002 TL type S is doing kind of the same thing. I thought that my transmission was going to go out. They found nothing wrong with the transmission. They did that 2nd gear inspection looking for discoloration because of that warranty recall situation. The dealership can not find any error codes and they said that they could not duplicate the problem. All they have to do it drive down the road and you can feel it. My car kind of feels like I am driving a stick shift and I need to give it more gas in that gear. Is your car about the same? If so and you have any information, please let me know. Acuraimport (the guy that responded to you the first time) said that mine could be the torgue converter or some other stuff. Check my posting for his diagnosis. Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Erin
