Having a challenge to get the front axel nut removed. I used rust penetrant, heat(not too much), a few good wacks, and lots of straining with a 20" breakover....no luck. Should I get out the Dremmel and slice the nut along the keyway on the axel? OR does any one have other tricks......
Its time to bust out the breaker bar and and a nice lead cheater pipe. Try to get the longest pipe you can over the breaker bar to get as much leverage as possible. If you can't get it with 3 - 4 feet of leverage then nuthin will get that thing loose. Thats when its time to start cuttin stuff. _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti
Broke a craftsman 17" and another 25 inch bar with a 3 ft steel pipe....but cold chisled the nut and got it off in about 3 hrs. Now the shaft is stuck , the splines must be rusted solid!!! A 20 ton bearing press did not budge it! Now looking for a used knuckle/bearing hub assembly. Don't know any other solution...Junk yard part pulling!
