Its not really a matter of which is better, but what would be best for your setup. True Turbos are more efficient (higher peak power), but supercharges give boost much earlier (low-end power). So you gotta ask yourself which is more important low-end power, or greater top-end power. _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti

Like the other 2 said, it all depends upon what you want.... turbo's are more used for like road coarses and drags, while JRSC is more used for auto-x and road coarses. What'cha wanna do buggy's?? _________________ DC4's are the shizzle!!

i asked the same thing in my younger days when i thought a supercharger can force air in and a turbo can force it out, not the case. the simple fact is that a supercharger and a turbo esentually do the same thing only different ways. 1 being a superchager runs off the crank pulley turning the supercharger forcing air into the intake which constently pushs air in from the get go 2 a turbo runs off the exhuast thus creating "turbo lag"
which is the spool on the turbo doesn't spin enough to create boost until higher rpm's when the motor is pushing enough exhaust to spin the turbo then it starts to force air in to the intake then it starts making hp |

i think i'm gonna go with the charger i can get more hp from the get go instead of having to wait for the boost _________________ the dream is still alive........ALIVE i tell you.......ALIVE!!!!!!! |

JRSC is a good mod for a GSR.
And it is possible to use both... but very complicated and a real pain in the ass..... there was an article in SCC (sport compact car), that had a MR2 that had both. He used the SC for initial boost off the line and after a certain RPM the turbo took over.... well it was sposta be that easy.... he ended up having major head-aches w/ it.. _________________ DC4's are the shizzle!!

Personally i would rather go with supercharger for low end power. I also wanted to get Jadkson Racing but then I saw the power of a Vortech supercharger. You should def. check out Vortech. _________________ *--The Driver Makes The Car, Not The Engine--* |

The problem w/ the Vortec is that it is mostly just a high HP # part. Personally I would go w/ a turbo over the Vortec, cause the gains are just better. _________________ DC4's are the shizzle!!

I agree with HiddenDemons. The Vortec may produce some good numbers on the dyno, but it doesn't perform as well as you would expect it to. _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti |
