I personally wouldn't go LS/Vtec as there are waaaaaay to many horror stories on the net. They really aren't all that reliable due to the LS's horrible rod/stroke ratio. Stay tuned to the boards as I hope to start my LS build up in the next year. Boring and sleeving, and port and polishing, and BIG ass cams!! Who needs Vtec, not I!! _________________ DC4's are the shizzle!!
No, you don't need a fuel rail! Unless you are pushing some crazy numbers!! |

If you haven't already read it, here is a little intro into the LS/VTEC.
I don't think it is essential to change your intake manifold, but i'm not sure. Personally, If it was me, i'd take the manifold of a GSR.
Note: If you use a GSR stock intake manifold, you are going to want a P72 from the GSR in order to control the Intake Air Bypass (IAB) butterflies. _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti |

Is the LS your daily driver? If it is, you may want to go with a more reliable build up route. Its is a good idea for you to make a complete plan for your car. Estimate your budget, what kinda performance you want etc... Planning is key, all the top tunners have something of an end result before they even start. _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti |

yeah it's my daily driver. i have an idea what i want to do with it, i have most of the parts lined up. but like you said it's a matter of getting the money. im looking for lowend horsepower and torque for my build. . i am looking to get a DC header (the stainless steel so it looks badass when it oxodises ) but should i get a 4-2-1 or just a 4-1? |

I'd go with the 4-2-1 (creates power at lower rpms). Instead of a VTEC head, you may want to consider a roots blower. (if they make one for your app, of course) _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti |
