I have a 2002 TLS, and I took it to autozone to get the code pulled. It came back as P0740 TCC Circuit Malfunction. I looked it up online, and all I came up with was that TCC stands for Torque Converter Clutch. Anyone know what this means? anyone know how to fix it? do I need to take it to the dealer, because my warranty just ran out 3k miles ago. Any help? thanks!

I take it you found the ECU port!

Possible cause for the DTC code: faulty lock-up control system!

A little background info courtesy of Honda: "By adopting the clutch pressure direct control system and a new logic control system, precision of the transmission control has been drastically improved and optimized. Also, the lock-up control system for a wide range of transmissions, from 2nd gear to 5th gear, the highly efficient and ultra thin torque converter, and the low friction clutch all contribute to higher fuel economy."

Your problem could come from a leak in one of your hydraulic pressure lines, or lack of pressure to any of your clutches. If not that, you may need to replace your lock-up control solenoid valve assembly, torque converter, or if you are really unlucky your entire tranny.

As a general rule of thumb if it deals with your transmission take it to a pro. Internal tranny problems are the most complicated repairs. Unless you feel up to the job Razz
