Hii
I have a 98 kegend. Water leaked in the sun roof and got the alarm system wet. After cleaning the alarm system up I had problems with the fuel pump relay. I replaced it and the car finely started. While replacing the fuel pump relay i unpluged the SRS fuse. Now the SRS light on the dash stays on all the time and the check engine light stays on also. I've tried unpluging the batt. and resetting the compuiter, but didn't work. Computer code says it's 4 . How do you reset everything. The SRS and the Check enginge light. Thanks for your help.

I did some checking, engine DTC code 4 is your CKP sensor (Crankshaft position sensor). I doubt that that is your problem. SRS code 4 is a short to power in the driver's airbag inflator (thats probably your problem).

Note: When you have an SRS code stored, disconnecting your battery will not erase the SRS codes. Nor will removing the back up fuse 7.5a. You have to do a simple procedure with an SCS service connector to erase the DTC memory.

If you have one let me know and i'll tell you the instructions. If anyone else knows alternative way of doing it please let me know!

Thanks for getting back so fast with me. I don't have a SCS connecter. Sure would like to fix it with out taking it to the dealer if I could. I just got the car and don't have the alarm code either. I take it for granit that it's under the trunk or glove box. I has a set of buttons on the drivers side door.
