Could be either really!
Is your engine drawing power, if yes i'm inclined to say that its your starter. If not, i'd go with a faulty rely. _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti

I just replaced the main relay in my excellent 1990 Legend, 150K miles. The car ran beautifully but would not start again after a 20 minute run. After the old relay was removed, I pulled the pc board and relay assembly out of its black plastic case. It smelled stronly of organic vapor. I believe this was from internal heating over time.
I want to suggest that the main relay in these cars be preemptorily replaced at 140K miles. It's cheap and takes a few minutes. Why take a chance on being left by the side of the road over something so simple to correct in advance in some of the best cars ever made. Mark
