Automatic Trans Sets Very Hard into Reverse

Hello All-Acura,

I am having a problem where my transmission sets into reverse with a loud and hard thunk. Also, the idling rpm is about 2500-3000 for the first few minutes after starting... Any ideas?

As for your tranny problem could be your servo valve stuck, or joint in shift cable and transmission or body worn.

Your car is supposed to idle hi when your engine is cold, and as the engine temp reaches operating temp. your rpms should go down to approx 800 rpm
