I was in school today, and I overheard someone in my auto mechanics class ask if it was possible to put and RSX engine in a newer integra. Then the guy said probably because the RSX is just a newer integra. So someone please clear this info to me.. thanks// |

so what exactly is your question? The RSX is the next generation Integra in America. It is still called the Honda Integra over in Japan (I think). Someone clarify that for me... I'm not 100% sure about that
When it comes to building Hybrids, ANYTHING is possible, its just a matter of 'is it a good idea or not'. _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti |

Like I said anything is possible!
Most B series motors rotate counter-clockwise, and the K series motors rotate clockwise. So, to make it work you'll need to mirror all your components so you have space to mount your new block. So you would have to spend a lot of work, time and money to make it work.
As always it boils down to how much money are u willing to spend. _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti |

The integra had a 1.8L engine the RSX has a 2.0L engine. Physically putting the RSX's 2.0 liter engine into the integra is possible. the room is there. but then you gotta change trannys also and i doubt the tranny for the rsx fits into the integra because they are different frames.
It's probably possible for a complete swap but a lot of work. _________________ *--The Driver Makes The Car, Not The Engine--* |

It is possible and Hybrid Racing makes a conversion kit for it. Here's a link to the website!
http://www.hybrid-racing.com/
And yes the RSX is still the honda integra in Japan. |

So are Integras B series and the RSX a K series? If so how would i be able to mirror my component? |

90-2001 integra's are B's and 2002+ integra's (RSX) are K's. The kit is located under fabrications http://www.hybrid-racing.com/?page=hybrid, the cost is through the roof! And anything that you currently have, well you might still be able to get the exhaust to work, would be useless on a K engine. _________________ DC4's are the shizzle!!

When i say mirror your components, I mean when you take out the engine you'd have to move the battery (and a bunch of other thing) to the opposite side of your engine bay; b/c the k-series motor has its pulleys and what not on the opposite side from the B series. (the 2 motors rotate in a different directions) _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti |

As for mirroring the components, and how much it would cost, that is a question of who is doing it? If you and some other friends are doing it, it won't cost much if it's done right, but if you have a shop do it..... you'd have to ask around. IRT the 5 or 4 lug... I dunno, log onto the forums at hybrid-racing and ask??? _________________ DC4's are the shizzle!!
