First place i usually suggest to get started is Intake, header, exhaust, then fuel rail, injectors & regulator.
But how much of a beast are u looking to create? A vtec head and turbo would be one hell of a hp gain (but that would be alot of work), u don't want to bite of to much at first _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. - Mario Andretti |

| dont buy a nitrous kit. and get exhaust before you get headers cause it defeats the purpose. intake, exhaust, than headers. |

im new at this too. how much would intake, exhaust and headers add in HP? and exhaust. does it have to be the whole catback and stuff? or can it be just tip? and is any aftermarket intake good enough? or certain brands are better like aem. and does the other no name brands do anything to improve the hp?
lastly. what can i do to get my stock 96 LS SE to be 200hp. and how much will all the parts cost roughly? |

| honestly there are a lot of things u can do that are cheap. You can go ebay and find the Venom 400 for like $150, a cold air intake is good, cam gears can help u out but u have to get it dyno to get the right performance, ebay has a ECU that has the chips in it and it can really give you a real boost for like $200. And there is others u just have 2 figure out what u want cause headers will improve the exhaust. I have bought most of my things on ebay and mostly from what i seen most things work the same. But if u want 2 stay cheap OBX is a good brand. If u go on AirDynamicRacing.com i had got the headers, cold air and exhaust for $200 and they all work well. My 93 integra is pushing over 200 hps. now with about $1000 worth of work into it. |

Simply putting on a muffler/tip will improve the sound and may give a tiny bit of extra power, but the cat-back will do so much more. And as for air intake brands AEM historicaly has shown the best numbers on the dyno. However, its good to check out all your options _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. - Mario Andretti |

well this looks interesting......for real performance gains you would need to do your upgrades in a "package", as in everything working together for a specific powerband and goal. A no name brand intake will work fine, as long as you use the correct diameter of tubing w/ a good filter, or you could make your own (there are a lot of web-sites that tell you how). To get to 200whp you would have to drop some good cash. Cams, boring and sleeving.... or turbo/supercharge w/ the correct internal upgrades and some port/polishing w/ a good engine manegment unit for both ways. Lots of stuff for you to research. Have fun!!
BTW: you don't need a new fuel rail till you get WAAAAAAY up in the horsepower range. Aftermarket fuel rails are more for looks than performance, so use that money on something more helpful. |
