Hi there,

I have a 97 integra and when i turn on the car it idles it revs all the way up to 3000 rpm! After a few seconds it will start reving up and down between 1500 and 2500 rpm's. Now i hear it is a common problem w/ the MAP sensor, but mine is fine. No codes no nothing. Has anyone had this problem? if so how did u fix it?

Thanks

Sounds like you might have a leak in your intake manifold. A way you can test my theory is to take off your intake pipe and cover up the throttle body when the engine is still running, and if it doesn't cutt out right away you know you have a leak somewhere.

I have the same problem with my CL..every morning when i turned on my car..it made very loud noise (especially when the engine is cold). After a while, like 3 minutes, it went back to normal...is anyone else have this problem or know why?

Well, it turns out it was my MAP sensor that was bad all the time. It was slowling going bad. After a little my check engine light came on and it it turns out that it was the MAP sensor all along. So, that may be what your problem is. How long has it been doing that? it was doing if for over a month befor a DTC code came up.
