Hey all this is my first post. I bought a 96 Acura Integra LS i bought it salvaged with some blown airbags and some marks on the fender and front bumper. Im doing well on repair work its not as hard as i thought im buying a new fender on ebay pretty cheap.
I like the car a lot it handles really well i just want to add some more low end off the line torque without sacrificing reliability id rather pay more money for one solid upgrade then a bunch of cheap engine dressups, but if a CAI will add more low end torque id get it, i just hate the louder noise. Anyone have any ideas or a path they would take as far as upgrades go. Can i get more torque with a chip or any kind of computer? please let me know
thanks
steve
Hi Steve, welcome to All-Acura.com!! Your best bet for a one stop low end torque up-grade is a supercharger. A CAI will make it a little better, but you won't notice any gains w/out upgrading the exhaust system as well.
As for chips or ECU's please read the thread that I stickied in this forum.

No, you don't need a fuel rail! Unless you are pushing some crazy numbers!!
Don't forget about NOS, that will help you alot. But, there is a downside of course, its not the most reliable of mods! So, i'm gonna guess and say you are going to want to stay away from that.
If you are going to go with a supercharger, you are going to want to first pick which type of supercharger you want. There are two kinds: roots positive displacement, and centrifugal. The roots type blower is the most common blower. It gives an imediate and proportional boost to throttle input (predicatble - no surprises). An example of this type is used by Jackson Racing kits. Your other choice the centrifugal blower, which are your Vortec and Powerdyne Kits. These are much more themally efficient creating a higher peak. However when it comes to low end boost the roots-type blower rules. _________________ If you feel like you're in control, you're not going fast enough. ~ Mario Andretti
