Does anyone know if it's normal for acura legends to run hot? I replaced my thermostat with an 180 cause they said that was the one that belongs on it but when my car gets hot and it's all the way in the red that's the only time my fan cuts on to cool it down. Is this normal or is my fan suppose to cut on sooner. This only happens when the car is in park.
When you say all the way in the red do you mean on the edge of overheating? It should run at around 1/4 way less than 1/2 at most. Your fan should only come on when it needs to. If while driving your engine temp is good then it won't need to turn on. When your idling your fan usually needs to turn on and off intemitently to get some flow past the radiator.
