Hey y'all
Sorry for using the forum for my lights problem but I'm having a heck of a time here.
I got a set of PIAA light on my Integra and am having a heck of a time wiring them up. Out of the fog light relay I have 2 wires, one white and the other black. I ran a wire from the radio fuse for power. And of course the ground from my chasis.
I also have a 4 pronged switch that reads (on each respective prong): Battery, Ground, Accessory, and Relay.
First, a little backround:
If you connect the white and the radio fuse wire (power) via a 2 prong switch it will work.
I have had 2 complete disaters already trying to wire this 4 prong switch. The first time I connected the black wire to "Ground", the white to "Accessory", and the radio fuse (for power) to the "Battery", my car started to smoke. The black wire was melting away.
The second time I tried to connect it I ran the radio fuse wire to "Battery", the white wire to "Accessory", the black wire (or what was left of the black wire) to the "Relay", and added a ground wire to the chasis and connected it to "Ground". I started the car and flipped the switch.... My car shut down! I burnt the Ignition fuse in the hood fuse box. So I had to switch the bad fuse with the lights fuse (50A) just to start the car.
Anyway if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong or if you can give me any advice I would sure appreciate it. Again sorry for posting this in an integra forum but I'm stumped here.
whats up man.... sounds like youre havin trouble. i install car electronics, so maybe this will help. The battery wire is actually what supplies the lights with power, you need to connect it to a constant power source(if you want to be able to turn them on without turning the ignition on) or a switched power source (if you only want them able to turn on when the key is in the "on" position) black goes to the vehicles ground. the white wire is what powers the lights up. THe white wire is what actually should connect to the power wire on the lights themselves. dont connect the white wire to anything inside of the car other than the PIAA relay.
hope that helps... doin this over the internet is a little vague.
