Ok just installed a new oem clutch into my 96 Ls after apeice broke off of the old clutch disc and wedged itself into the fingers of the presssure plate. But I just dropped the tranny and I re-installed it drove a block then clunk and no go!! I can push the clutch in and it makes no diffrence even without the clutch pushed in I can shift into any forward gear. Revers requires the clutch to be pushed in but even so I can't move forward when I release the clutch and give it some gas. I thought the release bearing was off the shifter lever so I took the trans back down and to my suprise it was still on there. I'm hoping my dissasembly and reassembly then dis and reassembly again will help fix the problem but I'm lost now on what could be causeing this problem. Any ideas out there??

All i can think of is:
shift cable broken/out of adjustment
defective Drive plate
or something was put back together wrong
