maint req light - 96 integra RS

Does anyone know what it means when your maint reg light blinks 10 times when you start the car? It just started doing this a few days ago and id like to try and fix it myself to avoid spending a lot of money. It blinks 10 times all equal length of time.

It doesn't mean anything is wrong w/ your car. It is a system acura installed to have people bring their cars in for regularly scheduled maintenance.
If you want to stop it from blinking there is a blue reset but under your driver side dash (kinda off to the right). Check your manual to see what maintenance item you need to to do.

i have heard that the light will blink a certain number of times dependant upon what is wrong with the car. It has not hit any specific mileage that I think would trigger the light to go on. I have read on other sites that the code will tell you where the problem lies. Does this sound right?

That is true you can use the number of flashes to diagnose a problem. However that is when the check engine light comes on, not the maintence req light comes on. Also, there are a number of proceedure that you must do to get it to flash.
It comes on after a certain time not millage, something like 6-10 months.
