Acura RL 1996 Ignition Problem

Acura RL 1996 115k miles. Place key in ignition. All panel lights come on as described in manual. Turn key to "start" position - nothing happens. Remove key, and or turn over and perhaps on 2nd or 3rd attempt car will start. Immobilizer light does not stay on and when turning ignition to "off" immobilizer lights blinks as described in manual. This occurrence of no start does happen all the time. May go several days without a no start incidence. Also occurs with 2nd key that is in frequently used. Cannot answer with data if frequency the same with 2nd key.
Do not wish to leave car with dealer as may be in shop for days prior to an occurrence.

HELP HELP HELP. Certainly this cannot be the only Acura with the ignition malady

I have a 94...this was happening for a while to me too. It turns out that my problem was the starter. I friend of mine (that knew what he was doing took the starter out and cleaned it off, also he replaced some sensors that were kinda worn and its been fine. Hopefully you wont need to replace the whole thing!
