Hi:
3 quesitons, I don't know mcuh about cars, 96 integra, 82K miles, 4 cyl, auto:
1. noticed that my gas mileage has dropped from 30-31/gallon to around 25-26/gallon last few months. i don't use the AC or the defrost that much, but I'm in NJ, and it's been a cold winter. No other mechanical problems I can tell. Is mileage drop normal in winter or is this signal of sthing wrong?
2. Car came with itegrated car phone but has no service, sounds like ATT wireless when i try to dial and get error message. Any way I can hook up my regular cell phone to this, and use the radio etc w/out buying anything ew?
3. Service: When should I get timing belt changed, car has new brakes, wheels at 60-65K miles (from past owner) and I get oil change walmart service every 3 mos.
Looking to keep this car going for a while trouble free...thanks much for help/info.
As for your first question, the way you drive your car and where plays a big role in how fast u run through your gas. 30mpg is very good... but i wouldn't worry about it.
As for the car phone that all depends on who made it and how its wired up. Your best bet is to call up the manufacturer. They would be able to tell you what is possible and what isn't
CHANGE THE TIMING BELT... ASAP unless the previous owner changed it at 60k when it is suggested. I can't stress enough how important it is to get that changed.
