Can anyone help? I recently had my speed sensor go out. Ofcourse my High VTEC stopped working during this time. I just got it fixed the other day and now my VTEC doesn't work at all and I'm pulling a P1259 code (VTEC Malfunction). Does anyone have any insight on this and how to fix it? I have a 2000 GSR and I'm using the S-VAFC.
Your problem could be caused by a few things:
1. VTEC pressure switch
2. Open or short in VTEC solenoid
3. Valve circuit
4. VTEC solenoid valve
5. Open or short in VTEC pressure witch
6. Your ECM
To test the pressure switch (when the car is off) disconnect the pressure switch connector, then check for continuity between switch connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2 (blu/blk) if there isn't continuity replace the switch.
