Teg Stalling Part Duex

Allright.. the stalling is fixed. I tore open the Dizzy and changed out the ignitor. 46 bucks and about an hour of wrench time later we are running great. I called around to a bunch of Auto part shops and they wanted anywhere between 150-250 for the part and the Dealer wanted 100. After a WTF moment I checked ebay and found a parts shop out east that would sell for 40 +6 shipping the shop was Bap Geon, It took about a week to ship. Opening up the Distributor was pretty easy, even for a newb like me. There are a bunch of articles online to walk you through the process.

I just wanted to send everyone a HUGE thankyou for all the ideas in this thread. Y'all saved me alot of ducats. I went from an estimate of 400 dollars, to 46 bucks and a case of beer (for my buddy who let me park the car at his place).

Replace the ignition switch in the steering console. you can do this yourself. part costs around 80 USD. It's the part in behind the key itself.

I have a similar problem with my 94 Integra RS, 140,000. At 132,000 my car just died and wouldn't start up again. I got it towed to my regular mechanic and he replaced my ignitor & coil. Shortly after that was fixed I started having a new problem. When the car gets warmed up the tachometer starts going crazy when I accelerate and the auto tranny feels like it's not locked up all the way and doesn't shifts way before redline when it's floored. The problem keeps getting worse and just this monday it started hesitating really bad then died, and didn't want to start but eventually did. If anyone has any ideas let me know!

My problem is a little different than the one described. I purchased a 2002 RSX about a month ago and it's been running flawless. Recently the weather got chilly during the night time hours. On monday (4 days ago), the check engine light came on and the transmission started doing funny things. Driving in auto, the auto shifting was last (3000+ rpm going at a regular speed, no extra power required), and also slowing down the car jerks. It's almost like the engine brakes (a lot more than usual).

This only occurs during the first start in the morning. After I get to my destination and turn off the car, there is no problem on next start. To me it sounds like the cold weather is affecting a sensor. So I took it to a Honda dealership because there isn't an acura dealership until 2 hours away from my house. They read the codes but told me they do not have the proper descriptions for the RSX and couldn't tell me the exact problem, but did say that it looks to be a possible throttle body problem.

I've been trying find the code descriptions but I can't seem to locate them. The codes are: P0122 and P1298

Let me know if you have the description for these codes.

Thanks
